OnMyLips Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 July 2026
OnMyLips is a guest-mode Bible reading, journaling, and Scripture-memorization app. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, why it is handled, and what choices you have.
1. Data controller
OnMyLips is provided by Babatope Aiku / Ilana Innovation, entrepreneur individuel / micro-entrepreneur, 6 rue d’Armaillé, 75017 Paris, France, SIRET 10716683700016.

2. Data stored on your device
The app stores the following information locally on your device:
- the name you choose;
- reading progress and preferences;
- journal entries and reflection notes;
- highlights and bookmarks;
- memory verses and practice progress; and
- reminder settings and display preferences.
Version 1.0.0 does not require an account and does not provide cloud sync. We do not receive or retain this local content on OnMyLips servers.
3. Bible-text requests
KJV and ASV text is bundled for offline reading. If you select ESV, NLT, or French Segond (LSG), the app sends a request for the passage you selected to the applicable licensed provider:
- Crossway for ESV;
- Tyndale House Publishers for NLT;
- Biblia / Logos Bible Software for French Segond (LSG).
The request contains the passage reference and the credentials required by the provider. It does not intentionally include your journal entries, chosen name, reading history, or advertising identifier. As with any internet request, the provider and its infrastructure may receive ordinary technical information such as your IP address, User-Agent, timestamp, and request logs. Those providers determine their own retention, security, and international-transfer practices under their respective policies.
We use these requests to provide online Bible text and offline access to the daily reading plan. When the app starts online, it retrieves and temporarily stores the current day’s scheduled passages for each available online translation (ESV, NLT, and LSG). The temporary cache stays on your device, is removed after the local calendar day changes, is not uploaded to OnMyLips servers, and is not included in exports.
Where data-protection law applies, the processing is necessary to provide the requested app feature and, where necessary, to maintain service security and reliability.
4. Notifications
If you choose to set a daily reminder, the app requests notification permission from iOS. Reminder schedules and messages are stored locally and notifications are generated by the operating system. You can disable reminders in Profile → Daily Reminders or in iOS Settings.
5. Exported data
You may export a JSON backup of your reading progress, journal entries, highlight metadata, bookmarks, and memory-verse metadata through the iOS share sheet. Exports do not include Bible verse or passage text from any translation. The backup is sent only to the destination you choose, such as Files, Mail, or another app. After export, the destination’s privacy policy applies. The backup may also be included in device or operating-system backups.
6. Purposes and legal bases
We handle information for the following purposes:
- provide the app’s local reading, journaling, reminder, and memorization features;
- retrieve an online Bible passage when you request one;
- respond to messages sent to [email protected]; and
- protect the security and reliability of the service where necessary.
For online passage requests, the relevant legal basis is providing the requested service. For support correspondence, the basis is handling your request and, where applicable, complying with legal obligations. Notification permission is controlled by your iOS choice.
7. Tracking, advertising, and sharing
This release has no account system, analytics service, advertising SDK, advertising identifier, cross-app tracking, or cloud-sync service. We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share passage requests with the relevant Bible-text providers as described in Section 3, and we share an export only when you choose a destination through the iOS share sheet.
8. Retention and deletion
Local app data remains on your device until you clear it, delete it in the app, or uninstall the app. You can clear local data from Profile → Danger Zone → Clear all data. We do not have a remote account or server copy of that local content to retrieve or delete.
We retain correspondence sent to [email protected] only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond and meet legal obligations. Online Bible-text providers determine their own retention periods for requests and technical logs.
9. Your rights
Where the GDPR or another applicable data-protection law applies, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or objection by contacting [email protected]. We may need to verify your request before acting. We normally respond within one month, subject to lawful extensions.
You may also lodge a complaint with the French data-protection authority, the CNIL, at [www.cnil.fr](https://www.cnil.fr).
10. Security
Online Bible-text requests are made over HTTPS. Local data is stored on your device and benefits from the security controls available on your device and operating system. This release does not claim app-layer encryption for local data. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
11. Children
OnMyLips is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app has no account system and keeps its main content locally, we do not knowingly maintain children’s profiles or accounts.
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, its providers, or applicable requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top will show the latest revision.
13. Contact
